The Gettysburg Foundation is pleased to partner with living historians to offer area residents and visitors to Gettysburg living history programming at Children of Gettysburg 1863 on select weekends.
Open daily, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. for the summer season through Oct. 14, Children of Gettysburg 1863 is an interactive children’s history museum adventure with the following upcoming living history events:

Saturday, July 20, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Gettysburg Independent Blues: Encampment with Military Drills
Saturday & Sunday, Aug. 10-11, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Officers for the Union and Ladies for the Union: Encampment
Saturday, August 24, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Battery B, 1 Rhode Island: Encampment
Saturday & Sunday, Sept. 7-8, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Society of Civil War Surgeons – 11 Corps (Union) and Florida Brigade (Confederate) Medical: Encampment & Stations with “Smells of the Hospital” exhibit and a “Touch Table”
The living history programming is free and open to the public, takes place on the lawn in the side yard and may be subject to favorable weather conditions.

Located at 451 Baltimore Street in downtown Gettysburg, the interactive children’s history museum tells the engaging stories of children, teens and young adults who lived in and near the town of Gettysburg during and after the Battle of Gettysburg. Visitors can experience history as they journey through the galleries and hear first-hand accounts from numerous young residents from 1863, including William Bayly, Albertus McCreary, Sadie Bushman, and Tillie Pierce.
