Local artist’s work connects art to ACAC’s annual golf tournament

After displaying an exhibit of beautiful pastel paintings created by Links resident and artist Wanda Snader Dehan at the Adams County Arts Council (ACAC) in January, Dehan graciously granted ACAC permission to use some of her works depicting landscapes of The Links to bring attention to ACAC’s 9th Annual Tee it Up FORE the Arts golf tournament. The tournament is scheduled for Thursday, April 25, at The Links. Registration on April 25 begins at 12:30 p.m., with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m.

“Wanda’s landscapes are so beautiful. To be able to use fine art created by a Links resident to help publicize this event is very special,” says Adams County Arts Council Executive Director Lisa Cadigan. “Revenue from the golf tournament is crucial to supporting our arts education programs, and making Wanda’s work available helps us connect the event even more closely to our mission.” Dehan has agreed to offer three of her Links paintings as part of a raffle at the event that will benefit the Arts Council. Tickets for the raffle will be available online before the event, and anyone who wants to support the Arts Council and enter for their chance to win a stunning painting can participate. Attendance at the golf tournament is not required to win.

Tee it Up FORE the Arts connects ACAC with the business community serving Adams County. Enbridge is the tournament’s title sponsor for the fourth year in a row. Battlefield Motorcycles is offering a motorcycle to the winner of the hole-in-one contest, and cash prizes will be available to those who participate in the Helicopter Ball Drop, thanks to Helicopter Applicators, Inc. Wellspan Health and KVG, LLC have signed on as Gold sponsors; Martin Podiatry as a Silver sponsor; and Adams Electric Cooperative and Boles, Metzger, Brosius & Emrick PC as Bronze sponsors this year. Gold sponsor KVG, LLC recently received an Applause Award from the Adams County Arts Council in recognition of their continued partnership in this and other ACAC events. At the ACAC Annual Meeting, Dusty Weikel, who received the award on behalf of KVG, stressed the importance of creativity in all aspects of life and work as a primary reason their business values this partnership. Wellspan received the award in 2023. The tournament is a great opportunity for local businesses to support a great cause while treating their employees and clients to a day of outdoor recreation, food, fun, and now a chance to go home with a beautiful piece of art. Sponsorships through the Platinum level are available until April 7.

The tournament offers premiere golf on a state-of-the-art course, food, drinks, raffles, door prizes, and contests. Funds raised at Tee It Up FORE the Arts support arts education programs for people of all ages and abilities throughout Adams County. ACAC uses funds raised to keep arts education opportunities affordable for all while maintaining a standard of excellence in teaching and materials used and prioritizing Adams County’s most vulnerable populations.

Sponsors, golfers, and anyone who wants to participate in the Helicopter Ball Drop or the raffle for Wanda Dehan’s pastels can register online at www.adamsarts.org or by calling 717-334-5006. Attendance is not necessary to win cash prizes in the Ball Drop or one of Dehan’s pieces.

The mission of the Adams County Arts Council is to cultivate an arts-rich community.
