Major League Baseball Honors Those Who Serve

Major League Baseball (MLB) is enhancing its commitment to America’s service members this May with a series of tributes that honor veterans, active duty military, and their families. Through the MLB Together platform, the league integrates community initiatives, game day activations, and philanthropic support to salute those who serve.

The observance reaches a peak during the Armed Forces Day weekend, established in 1949. On this special weekend, MLB players and personnel will don military-inspired caps and optional camo-themed socks. This tradition not only celebrates military heroes for their service but also unites fans and players in a nationwide gesture of gratitude.

On Memorial Day, MLB will join the country in solemn remembrance of the brave men and women who have lost their lives in service to the nation. This day is marked by poignant tributes at games across the league, reflecting MLB’s deep respect and enduring support for the armed forces.

Additionally, MLB contributes 100% of the royalties from Armed Forces Day On-Field Authentic Collection apparel sales to MLB Charities. This year, contributions support several military organizations, including Blue Star Families, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors, and the Wounded Warrior Project, ensuring ongoing support and resources for military communities.
