Mastriano concedes to Shapiro

Adams County’s State Senator and gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano has conceded to Josh Shapiro.

The concession came in a letter, posted on Twitter, thanking his wife Rebbie, his running mate Carrie DelRosso, the PA Republican Party, and those who voted for him.

“Difficult to accept as the results are, there is no right course but to concede, which I do, and I look to the challenges ahead. Josh Shapiro will be our next Governor, and I ask everyone to give him the opportunity to lead and pray that he leads well,” said Mastriano.

Mastriano said his campaign had been hampered because it had not received support from national PACs and organizations that other gubernatorial candidates in other states did.

He said the state must “do better to make our elections more transparent, secure, and more quickly decided.”
