The Bermudian Springs school district named Matthew Jenkins as the new assistant principal for Bermudian Springs Middle School during the school board’s meeting on Tuesday.
Jenkins will replace Mark Herb following Herb’s resignation.
According to the agenda, Jenkins will be given a 261-day contract with a salary of $78,000 prorated for the year.
Jenkins’ contract will begin on Nov. 22.
The board also approved 19 extracurricular contracts for this school year for teachers, mentors, and coaches.
A last-minute change order for paving repairs on Baltimore Road related to the new middle school project was also given the green light. The amount came to $29,284.
Approval was also given for the district to work with Hurley Auctions to sell surplus items from the old middle school.
The board accepted a $1,500 donation from the Bermudian Springs Youth Basketball Association. According to the agenda, the gift was sent out of gratitude for the use of the school facilities.
The next regular board meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6.
