BALTIMORE – Senior attacker Kerry McKeever (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) was named to the US Lacrosse Magazine Division III Women’s Lacrosse Preseason All-America Team it was recently announced.

McKeever was one of 13 student-athletes to make the preseason team, which is selected by magazine writers and editors. She was one of two athletes from the Centennial Conference, joining midfielder Marissa McGarrey from Franklin & Marshall College.

McKeever is one of the most decorated returning players for Gettysburg. She was a third-team All-America selection by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) in 2019 and she was labeled with third-team national honors by Inside Lacrosse following the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. McKeever was also All-CC Second Team and Al-Metro Region First Team in 2019.

In 2020, the senior attacker led the Bullets with 13 goals in five games. She was third on the team with 17 points and second with 18 draw controls. In the season-ending win over No. 7 Salisbury University, McKeever rattled off four goals and an assist, while also corralling six draw controls. In three seasons, she has racked up 120 goals, 45 assists, and 168 draws in 49 games.

Gettysburg has landed a student-athlete on the US Lacrosse preseason national teams in each of the last three seasons. Steph Colson ’19 was named the Division III Preseason Player of the Year in 2019 and Courtney Patterson ’20 followed with the same honor in 2020.

The Bullets were 4-1 in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to the pandemic. An announcement from the Centennial Conference Presidents’ Council on the status of the 2021 campaign is projected sometime in February.
