The Finish Line
- Today’s 11th place finish by the Bullets was the highest showing at the regional meet since 2009 when the team placed eighth.
- Dickinson’s Christopher Scharf, who won the individual title at the Centennial Conference Championship two weeks ago, also claimed the title this week, clocking in an 8,000-meter time of 25:51, beating Carnegie Mellon’s Matthew Karee, who finished in 26:24.
- McKeever, who took a gap semester to compete this season, closed out his outstanding career by registering 22nd to grab his first career all-region accolade. He blazed through the muddy 8K course in 27:26 out of 223 competitors, with his one mile split being 5:34.
- Elliott continued his dominant junior season by placing 25th to collect his first career all-region laurel. He clocked 27:31 with a mile split of 5:34.
- McKeever and Elliott became the first duo since Jay Grunden and Bill Gray, who achieved this accomplishment in 1994, to post all-region recognition in the same season. The last Bullet to post an all-region nod was Sam Sheldon ’20 in 2019.
- Will Hopkins (Raleigh, N.C./Needham B. Broughton) crossed the finish line next, placing 64th with a time of 28:42.
- Rounding out the team scoring were senior Charles Norelli (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus), who claimed 109th in 29:39, and Luke Matzke (Collegeville, Pa./Malvern Prep), who came in 111th in 29:43.
- Finishing as displacers were senior Jack Kenyon (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields), who took 137th in 30:27, and sophomore Noah Albanese (Castleton On Hudson, N.Y./Maple Hill), who finished right behind in 138th in 30:28.
