Match Summary

After shooting three-over par on the front half of the course, the Bullets caught fire on the back half at Bent Creek, finishing one-under over the final nine holes. Gettysburg tallied a total of 16 birdies on the afternoon and out-distanced Franklin & Marshall by four strokes. The Bullets tallied seven birdies on par-5s, including four on No. 12.

Freshmen Daniel Suter (Gaithersburg, Md./Milton Academy) and Graeme Hollingshead (Basking Ridge, N.J./Gill St. Bernard’s) each shot one-under over the final nine holes. After back-to-back bogeys on holes two and three, Suter posted five birdies and nine pars over the final 15 holes. He capped his day with birdies on 17 and 18 to finish tied for third with a one-under 70. Suter tied his personal collegiate low.

Hollingshead recorded 15 pars and a pair of birdies to finish tied for sixth at even par (71). He recorded back-to-back birdies on No. 12 and No. 13 and ran off five consecutive pars to close his round. Sophomore Cameron Deiuliis (Highland, Md./River Hill) finished in a tie with Hollingshead by also shooting 71. Deiuliis paced the team with five birdies, including his final on the par-4, 309-yard 17th.

By the Numbers

  • Gettysburg won four of its six team events this fall. That is one more team trophy than the team won in the fall of 2018-19, when it went on to establish the program’s season record with nine total team championships.
  • The Bullets tied the second-lowest round in program history and finished one stroke shy of the program record of 285 set at the 2019 Moravian Spring Invitational.
  • Gettysburg finished with a scoring average of 295.3 over nine rounds of competition this fall. That mark is over eight strokes better than the program’s previous season-best scoring mark of 303.4 set in 2018-19. Seven of the team’s nine rounds were at 296 or lower.
  • The Bullets posted nine individual rounds at par or lower this fall. Five players are averaging lower than 75 strokes per round, led by Moffat’s 72.8.
