The Gettysburg College men’s lacrosse team maintained its hold on No. 10 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Poll heading into the second week of the regular season.
Gettysburg (1-0) gained ground in the poll and trailed No. 9 Wesleyan (Conn.) University (0-0) by just five points with 175. The same institutions remained among the top 10 from the previous week with some slight shuffling as Williams University (0-0) and York (Pa.) College (2-0) both moved up one spot and RIT (0-0) and Tufts University (0-0) dropped one position.
The top three remained intact with Salisbury University (2-0) climbing the lion’s share of first-place votes to beat out Amherst College (0-0) and Cabrini University (1-0).
The Bullets take on a pair of non-conference foes this week, first visiting Goucher College on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 3:30 p.m. The Orange and Blue renew a storied rivalry with top-ranked Salisbury this Saturday at 1 p.m. Three of the previous four games between the Bullets and Sea Gulls have been decided by one goal, including an 8-7 decision by Salisbury in the 2018 NCAA semifinals.
