Men’s Lacrosse : Wykoff Named USILA Preseason All-American

Senior defenseman Mitch Wykoff (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Ludlowe) was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Preseason All-America Second Team it was recently announced.
 
Wykoff is a two-time regular-season All-America selection by USILA, earning second-team status in 2018 and third team in 2019. He led Gettysburg with 92 ground balls and finished second on the squad with 23 caused turnovers in 19 games last season. Wykoff helped the Bullets lead the Centennial Conference in goals against average at 9.49.
 
A dual threat out of the backfield, Wykoff dashed down the field to score nine goals last spring, marking a program record for a Gettysburg long-pole. He was tagged All-CC First Team for the second time and is a three-time all-conference honoree, earning second-team status in 2017. Wykoff was also the CC Defensive Player of the Year in 2018.
 
In 58 career games, the senior has put up 11 goals, 237 ground balls, and 56 caused turnovers. He ranks fourth in program history in ground balls.
 
Gettysburg opens the season at home against Messiah College on Saturday, Feb. 15, at 1 p.m.
