Mens’ Swimming: Proxmire Earns CC Weekly Award



LANCASTER, Pa. – Senior Duncan Proxmire (McLean, Va./Langley) was named the Centennial Conference Swimmer of the Week following his performance in a non-conference dual meet against Washington & Lee University last weekend.

 

Proxmire earned his first weekly award from the conference after posting a pair of individual wins against the Generals. The senior led from start-to-finish in the 200 free, closing with a time of 1:43.98 to win by nearly two seconds. Proxmire dominated the 500 free and won the event by nearly 13 seconds at 4:40.87. He also finished runner-up in the 100 free (48.17) and contributed to a third-place showing in the 200 free relay (1:29.06).

On the season, Proxmire owns the team’s top times in the 200 free (1:41.71), 500 free (4:38.52), 1,000 free (9:40.50), and the 1,650 free (16:03.40). His time in the 1,650 is an NCAA provisional qualifying time and ranks 37th in the country.

 

Gettysburg returns to the pool this Friday with a conference dual at McDaniel College beginning at 5 p.m. The Bullets also host the University of Mary Washington on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 1 p.m.
