Freshman Nick Cox (Purcellville, Va./Ponte Vedra), Yancey, junior Jack Edelson (Charlotte, N.J./Providence Senior), and sophomore Sam Nonemaker (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) finished just 0.60 seconds behind the Diplomats with a time of 1:33.48.
  • Proxmire skipped the 1,000 to focus on the 200 and 500 freestyle races and came away with two wins. He beat out Nonemaker by 0.18 seconds with a time of 1:43.68 in the 200 before out-running Willem Stoll by four seconds for a win in the 500 (4:40.07). Proxmire pushed his season win total in individual events to 20.
  • Yancey won his only individual event of the day by out-dueling Tom Graminski in the 100 breast. The Gettysburg junior finished in 58.18 – 0.34 seconds ahead of Graminski. Yancey also teamed up with Nonemaker and juniors Aedan Collins (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) and Danny Petrillo (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) for a win in the 400 free relay. Nonemaker swam a 45.33 split over the final 100 yards to pull the team from behind and clinch a victory with a time of 3:06.13.
  • Pickering overcame a quick start by Edelson to pull out a win in the 200 fly. The sophomore finished in 1:55.78, edging the junior’s time of 1:57.29. Pickering finished just 0.41 seconds off the lead on the way to a third-place effort in the 200 IM (1:57.94) and he finished third in the 500 free (4:45.21).
  • Cox logged a season-best time and posted the seventh-fastest time in program history on the way to a runner-up showing in the 100 back (52.34).
