– Junior Oliver Yancey (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) from the Gettysburg College men’s swimming team was named the Centennial Conference Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.
Yancey continued his breakout season by picking up four wins in Gettysburg’s 159-103 victory at the University of Mary Washington last Saturday. The junior captured the top spot in the 50 free (21.47) and 200 breaststroke (2:12.98), while also leading the 400 medley relay (3:31.59) and 200 free relay (1:26.09) to wins.
On the season, Yancey owns the team’s top times in the 50 free (20.56), 100 free (45.49), and 100 breast (57.90). He has piled up 12 individual wins and 12 relay wins.
Yancey was named the CC Swimmer of the Week for the first time in his career this past December.
Gettysburg (7-0, 3-0 CC) travels to Swarthmore College this Saturday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m.
