Healthy Adams County will host a Mental Health Summit next month in Gettysburg, bringing together mental health clinicians and community organizations for training, networking and an exchange of local resources.

The summit, with the theme “Strengthening our care for community by connecting with each other,” is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 16, at the Healthy Adams County Gettysburg Campus, 731 Old Harrisburg Road.

The event will be divided into two portions, beginning with an ethics training session for clinicians and followed by an opportunity for local agencies to meet with clinicians and share information about services available in the community.

Registration and lunch for clinicians will run from 11:30 a.m. to noon, followed by free ethics training from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

The one-hour program offers approved continuing education for psychologists. Continuing education credit is also available for Pennsylvania licensed social workers, licensed professional counselors, and marriage and family therapists. Full participation is required to receive continuing education credit.

Community agencies will begin registration and lunch at noon, with the resource and networking portion of the summit scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Agencies are invited to provide information about their programs and services while connecting directly with area mental health professionals.

The format is intended to give clinicians a better understanding of resources available to their patients and clients while allowing community organizations to build relationships with professionals who may refer residents to their services.

Healthy Adams County is providing separate registration options for clinicians and participating agencies through QR codes included on the event announcement.
