A major motion picture chronicling the life and legacy of Milton and Catherine Hershey is set to begin production next month. Titled HERSHEY, the film will explore the origins of the iconic chocolate empire and the deep personal story behind it.
Starring Finn Wittrock as Milton Hershey and Alexandra Daddario as Catherine Hershey, the film promises to illuminate not only the famous chocolatier’s rise to success but also the impact the Hersheys had on their community. The production will be filmed entirely in Pennsylvania, with key scenes in Hershey and Lancaster.
Directed by Mean Girls and Freaky Friday filmmaker Mark Waters, HERSHEY is slated for a 2026 release to coincide with America’s 250th anniversary. The film is expected to emphasize the creation of the Hershey Chocolate Company and the unique company town built to support workers and the establishment of the Milton Hershey School—one of the couple’s enduring philanthropic achievements.
The Central Pennsylvania Film Commission was crucial in securing state tax credits to keep the production local. Producers hope the project will spark renewed interest in the region for future film projects.
Dandelion Media is producing the film in collaboration with Hershey Entities and several production partners. UTA Independent Film Group is representing the film internationally.
