Saturday, August 3, 2024 marked the first ever Home School Festival, held at the National Apple
Museum in Biglerville.
The event included speakers and activities.

“Attendance was pretty good although the rainstorm caused no one to come for about half an hour and then a family came at the last minute as folks were cleaning up,” said event organizer Edy Sarnoff.
Various home school curricula were on display to purchase in the barn. There were childrens’ books for sale by donation. A separate screened-in building housed yard sale and other items such as homemade bracelets, hair ties, and Mexican Street Corn. There was a table with children’s games and activities as well as door prizes.
The event was sponsored by local home schooling organization Eagle Mom Squad and the funds raised will be used to pay for the speakers and the venue. Sarnoff said there was a possibility the event would be held again next year.
Free tours of the Apple Museum were also offered.
