The Friends of the New Oxford Area Library (NOAL) have been a part
of the New Oxford Area Library since September 1982. The NOAL was
the first Branch of the Adams County Library System (ACLS) to be
established.
Our mission is to provide a helping hand, promote and assist with the
development of our Library. We do this by fundraising, membership dues, and donations. We are a 501(c)(3); therefore, membership dues and
donations are tax-deductible.
Throughout the year, the Friends hold fundraisers to support our
Library. We have many planned for the year 2023. We start the year off with
a Paint Affair with Lacy French at the Brookmere Winery in New Oxford on
the 12th of March from 1-3 pm. We also have another one scheduled for the
15th of October. Tickets for the March event can be purchased at the NOAL
or online at www.thecolormixer.com. Limited seating is available.
We are planning a fundraiser on April 12th at the Gettysburg Perkins
Restaurant, 859 York Rd. Gettysburg, from opening to close, with a portion of
the proceeds going to the Friends. Just tell the cashier you’re with the
Friends. A second Perkins fundraiser is planned for November 9th. June
15th is our first-ever fundraiser at Jersey Mike’s in Hanover as well as our
Annual Sweet Frog fundraiser on the 13th of July from open to close. Just
tell the cashier at check out that you are with the Friends fundraiser.
Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the ACLS Book Sale Bonanza
held at Redding Auction House July 27-28 from 9-7 and July 29th from 9-3.
The NOAL Friends sponsor the Food Adventures food truck to keep you
well-fed and hydrated.
The NOAL Friends hold monthly meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of
the month at 6 pm at the New Oxford Area Library (NOAL), 122 N. Peters
St., New Oxford. Please join us and see what is happening and how we
work to support our local library and our patrons.
Consider becoming a member of the Friends Forms can be picked
up at the NOAL. We would love to welcome you to the group.
