Road closures are pending as The Gettysburg New Year’s Eve Celebration approaches on Sunday, December 31st, 2023. The event will cause disruptions in regular traffic flow. Please be advised to prepare for these upcoming changes and plan accordingly. Emergency vehicles will be on the scene if necessary. Please note the detour routes in case of emergency.

Lincoln Square to be closed to all vehicular traffic. The following road will be closed one block from Lincoln Square to restrict vehicular traffic from entering Lincoln Square:
Chambersburg Street at Washington Street
Carlisle Street from the square to before RaceHorse Alley
York Street at Stratton Street
Baltimore Street at Middle Street
Detour Route:
Detour begins at 4:30pm on Sunday, December 31, 2023 on Carlisle Street, which will be closed to traffic from west of Racehorse Alley keeping Racehorse Alley open for traffic heading east towards Stratton Street. This section of Carlisle Street will be closed from 4:30pm – 2:00am.
West Bound Traffic:
West Bound Traffic will be detoured from York Street (Route 30 East) at Stratton Street to travel north onto Water Street, at Water Street traffic will be detoured to travel west on Water Street to Washington Street, at Washington Street traffic will be detoured to travel south on Washington Street onto Chambersburg Street (Route 30 East) and continue westbound.
East Bound Traffic:
East Bound Traffic will be detoured from Chambersburg Street (Route 30 West) at Washington Street and will travel north onto Water Street, at Water Street traffic will be detoured to travel east on Water Street to Stratton Street, at Stratton Street traffic will be detoured to travel south onto York Street (Route 30 East) and continue eastbound.
North Bound Traffic:
North Bound Traffic will be detoured at Middle Street to travel east onto East Middle Street to Stratton Street, at Stratton Street traffic will be detoured to travel north on Stratton Street to Water Street, at Water Street traffic will be detoured to travel west on Water Street to Carlisle Street and continue north bound.
South Bound Traffic:
South Bound Traffic from Carlisle Street will be detoured at Water Street to travel west on Water Street onto Washington Street, at Washington Street traffic will be detoured to travel south on South Washington Street, to West Middle Street, at West Middle Street traffic will travel east on West Middle Street to Baltimore Street and continue south bound, Racehorse Alley will be open for the duration.
