Leon Reed and Lois Lembo Write Important Article about Poverty in Adams County
The article, entitled “Gettysburg’s Community Needs —and its fraying social services net?” appeared in Thursday’s Gettysburg Times.

The article was full of sobering statistics about poverty in Adams County as well as the lack of a reliable social safety net.
The two are studying the issue carefully and scientifically.

GBG Cell Tower Reconsidered
The Gettysburg Times reported that the Gettysburg Borough Council is asking the Fire Department to withdraw its request for a proposed 150-foot cell tower on N. Stratton St.
The borough planning commission approved the tower at its last meeting, but after public concerns were expressed the tower will now be discussed again by borough officials.

Sean Mott who has been an assistant public defender in Adams County has been appointed as the new county assistant solicitor.

Gettysburg resident Timon K. Linn announced his candidacy for the Gettysburg Area School District Board.
Land Conservancy Art Show Opens Next Week
The Land Conservancy of Adams County’s annual art auction exhibition will open with a public reception on First Friday, April 5, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Adams County Arts Council (ACAC). The exhibition features a wide variety of original artwork created by local and regional artists.
The show and auction is sponsored by the Land Conservancy of Adams County, a non-profit that works to preserve the rural lands and character of Adams County.
The exhibition will remain on view at the ACAC, 125 S. Washington St., Gettysburg, throughout the month of April in anticipation of the auction on April 28.
