He was born February 8, 1942 in Alexandria, VA the son of the late David and Iva Apperson Shapiro. Alfred is survived by his wife, Barbara Riley Shapiro.
Mr. Shapiro was a logistics Officer for the Federal Government for over 40 years retiring in 1994. And then went back to work there as an outside contractor for the government. He was a member of the Adams County Fish and Game Association and the Gettysburg Moose. He enjoyed golf and played as many days as he was able.
In addition to his wife, Alfred is survived by a son, David Shapiro and his wife Terri of Manassas, VA, a daughter, Heidi King of Gettysburg, PA, a step-son, Philip Godinez and his wife Andrea of Hansville, WA, five grandchildren; Justin Vance, Kayla Brackett, Riley Brackett, Amias Godinez and Violette Godinez, two brothers; Harold Shapiro and Stuart Shapiro. He was predeceased by two daughters; Beth Ann Morrissey and Christy Brackett.
A Memorial Service will be held, Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from Noon until the time of the service. Online obituary and condolences available at monahanfuneralhome.com.
