Allen Ray Shoey, born on August 6, 1935, passed away on November 17, 2024. He was an accomplished veterinarian whose passion for knowledge and commitment to his field made a lasting impact in the community.Throughout his career, Allen distinguished himself not only as a veterinarian but also as an integral part of the agricultural landscape. He processed state lab work for the Department of Agriculture in Harrisburg. This experience allowed him to perform his own lab work in his veterinary practice, streamlining processes and providing timely results that benefited both his clients and their animals.Allen had a thirst for knowledge. He took higher learning very seriously, continually seeking to expand his understanding of veterinary medicine and its applications.His hobby’s included fishing.He is survived by his former spouse and friend, Emily A. Shoey; two sons, Allen D. Shoey and David E. Shoey; two granddaughters, Julia Rose Shoey and Jessica Lauren Shoey.A memorial service for Allen will be held at a later date.www.gettysburgfun
