Alona M. McQuaid, 80, of Gettysburg passed away on Sunday morning, January 21, 2024 to be with her Lord in heaven and with her heavenly family. Alona will be greatly missed by her family and friends that she leaves behind.

Born on August 3, 1943 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Myriam M. Sanders. She was married to Thomas McQuaid of Gettysburg. She was previously married to Dale W. Trump for over 25 years.
Alona got her GED from Gettysburg High School. She was an extremely hard dedicated worker, working well past normal retirement age. She was an even better cook. Even working for the Gettysburg school district in the cafeteria and other cooking jobs along the way.
Alona had numerous waitressing jobs throughout her life which she loved Glennâs, Lincoln Diner, Hillcrest Restaurant, Biggerstaffs, Hunterstown Diner, and Drummer Boy Campground as the Snack Bar Manager working alongside with her beloved daughter and granddaughters in the summers. She loved interacting with the customers, especially her regular customers that would come in. Sheâd know exactly what they wanted before theyâd even sat down. She worked at Herff Jones in the camera optic department for over 20 years. She also loved working for Jacobyâs Transportation transporting special needs kids until finally retiring in her mid- seventies.
Alona enjoyed lots of things, but her favorites were cooking, baking, crocheting, going to the beach, family outings, hosting family holiday dinners, county music and a good glass of wine.
In addition to her husband, Alona is survived by her son Dale K. Trump and his wife Lisa, Gettysburg, PA. four step- children Tamera, Jeanette, DeAnna and Ernest, ten step- great grandchildren, EJ, Silas, Ira, Adelyn, Leah, Ahlora, Mason, Bethany, Nora and Piper. A daughter Tammy M. Rupp and her husband David R. Rupp Sr, Gettysburg, PA. Four grandchildren Heather and her husband Christian Henry, David Jr. and his wife Jessica Rupp, Stacey and her husband Nick Cafarchio, and Whitney and her boyfriend Adam Lechner, great grandchildren Christopher, Haylee, Luke, Leah and a niece and nephew. Lastly her four legged companion Sonny who was always by her side and misses her dearly.
She is also survived by two sisters, Barbara R. Smith of Gettysburg, PA, Bonita L. McDannell and her husband Gary Sr. of Gettysburg, PA. She was preceded in death by a nephew John Springer Jr. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with Rev. Garry Sheaffer, officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. Viewing hours will be from 9:00-11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home.
