Alvin Walter Simon, 84, of Littlestown, PA, and formerly of Westminster, MD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Bonnie Claire Simon, and together they shared 63 years of devoted marriage filled with love, partnership, and family.
Born April 22, 1941, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Alvin Walter Simon and the late Virginia May Lancaster.
Al began his career with the National Security Agency at the age of 24 and proudly served for 30 years before retiring. He then spent the next three decades enjoying life with his cherished wife, Bonnie, traveling throughout Europe—especially Germany, which held a special place in his heart.
An avid and accomplished golfer, Al recently enjoyed the satisfaction of shooting his age. He also enjoyed his daily speed walks through the neighborhood and treasured his evenings spent on the porch with Bonnie, a cocktail in hand. A true lover of food, Al was often planning dinner during his morning routine of drinking coffee and playing Sudoku.
Above all else, Al deeply loved his family. He was immensely proud of his three daughters, his sons-in-law, and his five grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy.
In addition to his wife, Bonnie, Al is survived by his daughters: Kelly Borowski and her husband Rick of Flagler Beach, Florida; Kim Schuchardt and her husband Jay of Westminster, Maryland; and Kerry Rea and her husband Phil of Denver, Colorado, as well as his grandchildren, Becky, Jessica, B.J., Jake, and Kasey. He is also survived by his brothers, Tom Simon and his wife Linda; George Simon and his wife Valerie; Jack Lancaster and his wife Betty, and his sister-in-law, Beverly Simon.
