Anna Jane Wetzel Hess Bucher, age 94, of Hanover, formerly of Gettysburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at her home.
She was born September 23, 1930, in Orrtanna to Raymond J. and Clara (McDannell) Wetzel.
Ann graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1948. She was employed by Stanley Home Products for 35 years and later by the Adams County Courthouse for 9 years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Gettysburg.
Her first husband, Joseph Hess, passed in 1967. Her second husband, Paul Bucher, passed in 2018. She is survived by a brother, Raymond, daughters, Debbora and Joan, nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild- and three stepsons
She was preceded in death by a sister Genevieve; brothers Floyd (infant), Thomas, and Robert; daughters Susan, Maxine, and Gail; son, Tony (infant); and grandson, Stephen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Monday, September 22, 2025 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 25 W. High St., Gettysburg. Interment will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church from 10 AM until the time of Mass.
