Obituary: Annabelle Mast Hoylman

Annabelle Mast Hoylman, 101, of Gettysburg, passed away on November 1, 2025, at the home of her daughter.

Born April 17, 1924, in Atglen, PA, on the family dairy farm, she was the daughter of the late David C. and Mamie (Stoltzfus) Mast. She was the wife of the late Arthur S. Hoylman, who died in 2001, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage.

Following graduation from Eastern Mennonite School in Harrisonburg, VA, she worked as a secretary at Mennonite Central Committee in Akron, Capital Bakers in Littlestown, and Dal Tile in Gettysburg as a bookkeeper. She and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in Atglen for 17 years, which is now Moccasin Run Golf Course, before moving to Gettysburg and starting Hoylman Insurance Agency.

She was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church in Gettysburg. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and played an active role in babysitting 5 of her great-grandchildren for many years. She enjoyed reading, knitting, and history.

Annabelle is survived by her three children, Gary (Sandi) Hoylman, of Gettysburg, PA, Robert (Joy) Hoylman, of Biglerville, PA, Marilyn (Bruce) Dietrick, of Gettysburg, PA, her seven grandchildren, Danielle (Brian) Carr, Renee Columbro, Meara (Ed) Kwee, Heidi (Ken) Lazzaro, Nate (Alix) Hoylman, David (Kate) Hoylman, Jared Dietrick, 18 great grandchildren, with twin unborn girls on the way, two great great grandchildren and a number of loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Beulah Bumstead, Lena Umble, Mabel Umble, and two brothers, Isaac Mast and Donald Mast.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at Bethel Mennonite Church, 2335 Biglerville Rd., Gettysburg, with Pastors Jennie and Dale Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. before the service.
