Arthur L. Danner, 97, of Newville, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in the Cumberland Crossings Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born on October 3, 1928, in Carlisle to the late Jacob and Mary (Timmons) Danner, and was the widower of Berthe (VanDerdonck) Danner, who passed away in May of 2017.
Arthur was a Carlisle High School graduate, class of 1947, and went on to work for SKF Industries of Shippensburg, where he was a punch press operator, with 47 years of service. He was a member of Penn Township and the Carlisle Fire Police, with many years of service. Arthur also worked part-time for Dickinson College, where he was a security guard during special events. After his retirement, he worked part-time for Rovegnos Properties, where he was a custodial engineer for almost 10 years. He was a charter member of the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company 50 and even helped with events after his entry into the nursing home. Arthur was a member of Camp Lyco, where he attended annually to hunt and fish. Arthur touched many lives all over. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and being outdoors.
Surviving are his children, Robert (Terri) Danner of Spring Hill, FL, and Michele Danner of Newville; grandchildren, Erik (Jill) Danner of Shippensburg, Jacob (Shelby) Danner of Spring Hill, and Brandon Danner of Spring Hill; great-grandchildren, Andrew Danner of Spring Hill and Luke Danner of Shippensburg; and many cousins.
Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held in the South Fairview Church Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held tentatively on April 11, 2026, in the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company 50, 1750 Pine Road, Newville, PA 17241. Further details will be announced closer to the time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company 50. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
