Barbara Ann (Kleinfelter) Lawver, 98, passed away peacefully in Chambersburg on July 14, 2026. Barbara was born in Biglerville (Adams County), PA. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her cherished family: Richard Lawver and spouse Cindy, Douglas Lawver and spouse Darlene, Mark Lawver and spouse Deborah, stepson Keith Teel and spouse Rebecca Snow, and stepdaughter Karen Teel and spouse Ralph Haller. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Kenneth E. Lawver (1995), daughter Cynthia Schade (2010), and second husband Ray L. Teel (2015).
Growing up in Biglerville, Barbara developed a lifelong love of music and played the piano and organ. She went on to graduate from Lebanon Valley College in 1950 with a degree in Music Education. After college, she returned to live in Biglerville, where she was married and raised her family of four children. There she was a key contributor to St. Paul Lutheran Church for nearly forty years, serving as organist and choir director of three choirs. Barbara was also a leading contributor to local theatrical productions celebrating the town and country’s history and was also involved in music programs throughout the local area.
After the passing of her husband Kenneth Lawver, Barbara married Ray Teel in 2001 and moved to Menno Haven in Chambersburg, PA. The newly married couple traveled extensively around the world. Additionally, they were actively involved in charitable organizations including Habitat for Humanity and Menno Haven. Barb and Ray were devoted members of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Chambersburg. Additionally, Barb led the “Menno-Larks”, a singing group on the Menno Haven campus for 10 years.
Above all, Barbara will be remembered for her joy of life, quick wit, passion for music, and love of those around her, whether old friends or new acquaintances.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2695 Luther Dr, Chambersburg, PA on Saturday, August 15 at 1:00 PM.
