She was predeceased by two daughters, Debbie and Cindy Shindledecker, her husband, Wayne âIkeâ Shindledecker and her brothers, Kenneth and Larry Fowler.
She is survived by her children, Charlie (Lorena) of Hemet, CA, Rich of Fayetteville, PA, Bruce (Tina) Fairfield, PA, Marge (Jeff) of Sarasota, FL, Steve (Johnnie) of Fairfield, PA and her beloved poodle, Ginger.
She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and one great grandchild arriving in September.
In May of 1953 she married Wayne Edward Shindledecker in Emmitsburg, MD. Wayne, Betty and the children were stationed many places throughout the United States and Germany while Wayne served as an MP in the Army. Once he retired, they raised their family in Fairfield, PA. Wayne passed away in 1977.
Betty worked for many years at the Gettysburg Shoe Company, a bookkeeper for Apple Valley orchards and Fairfield Graphics until she retired. She enjoyed playing dominoes, cards, watching the game show channel, sports, and holiday parades.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 1PM at the Fairfield Union Cemetery.
