Obituary: Beverly A. Winston

Beverly Ann Winston, 73, of Gettysburg, PA, died Thursday morning, September 25, 2025, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital Founders Building in Philadelphia.

Born June 12, 1952, in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Jacoby) Millhimes. She was the wife of JR Winston of Gettysburg, to whom she was married for eight years.

Beverly worked as the adult daycare manager at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford, working there for over 36 years.

She was a lifelong member of the Gettysburg Church Of The Brethren. She loved gardening, feeding her chickens, feeding the birds, and spending time with family and friends. Her passions included travel, cruising, painting, crafting, and riding motorcycles. She was a life member of the Penn Mar Riders; a member of A.B.A.T.E. of PA Monterey Pass in Franklin County; Treasurer for the past 10 years of the Gettysburg Eagle Riders, and past secretary of the club.

She had a special bond with the three young neighbor kids and thoroughly enjoyed their visits.

She was very socially active, had a great sense of humor, and a big heart. She helped organize and participate in many charity and benefit events, raising money for those in need and various community groups and organizations. She was blessed with many, many wonderful friends who loved and adored her.

In addition to her husband, Beverly is survived by her daughter, Sabrina(Joseph) Zemo, of Gettysburg, her two grandchildren, Samantha and Edward Warrenfeltz, two step-grandchildren, Kolten Zemo and Summer Meluh, her sister, Wanda Millhimes(Larry Putt), her two step-children, Jeremy (Veronica) Winston and Kyliegh Winston, and her six step-grandchildren, Ja’mere Spencer, Alexa Martone, MJ Autrey, Daveyon Snook, Jocelyn Winston, and Jaelin Winston. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Tanya.

A Celebration of Bev’s life to take place Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1-4 PM at 2555 Heidlersburg Rd., Gettysburg, PA.
