
She lived a life filled with adventure. Born in Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada. She was always on the move with family. Her father, George Jackson, a Minnesotan, an engineer who builds paper mills around the U.S., Canada, and once in France. Her mother, Audly Jackson, moved the family to her fatherâs job sites throughout the job sites.
Brenda grew up in her childhood and school years in Savanna, TN and Rockhill, SC. Brenda attended nursing school at the Methodist School of Nursing and graduated from the University of Alabama, Birmingham, where he met with her future husband Dai Kee Liu. In the 1980s Brenda worked as a flight nurse at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN.
In the 1990 Brenda and family moved to Carroll Valley, PA, starting the next chapter of her nursing career. She worked at Emergencies at Gettysburg Hospital and Frederick Hospital. She worked as a school nurse at the Mount Saint Mary University and Gettysburg School District. Upon retirement, she worked as a part-time nurse at the Migrant Health in Gettysburg. During this time she traveled to migrant camps all over Pennsylvania alongside Mary Englerth even up to Erie, PA.
Brenda is survived by her husband Dai Kee Liu, son George Minjay Liu, two brothers Craig Jackson of Jefferson NC and his Wife Norma and Glenn Jackson of Rockhill, SC with his wife Linda. She is also survived by many different relatives from Canada and an extended family in Taiwan from her husbandâs side.
A service for Brenda will be held 6:00 PM, Monday, June 3, 2024 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until the time of the service. Online condolences may be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
