Obituary: Carl L. Wilt

Carl L. Wilt, 78, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021, at Shippensburg Health Care Center.  He was the husband of Sandra L. (Bechtel) Wilt, his wife of 60 years.

Carl was born October 23, 1942, in East Berlin, the son of the late Sadie M. (Linebaugh) Wilt.

Carl was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Abbottstown, the Seven Valleys Hunting Club, and a he was 1960 graduate of Spring Grove High School.  He retired after 47 years working construction, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife Sandy, Carl is survived by his three children, Scott A. Wilt, of Thomasville, Shari E. Rabenstein, and her husband John, and Neal E. Wilt, all of East Berlin, and five grandchildren, Eric Rabenstein, Kristen Rabenstein and her fiancée Levi Krause, Courtney Wilt and her fiancée Jake Williams, Katelyn Wilt and Sara Wilt.

Funeral services will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Carl’s mom Sadie.  Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 306 Harrisburg St, East Berlin, is in charge of arrangements.  Memories may be shared at www.feiserfuneralhome.com.

Chas helped launch and then served as vice president of his high school's first-ever mock trial club and also worked on the school newspaper and debate club. Chas has volunteered as referee in children’s sports and served as an assistant high school basketball coach. He has had many stories published in local news websites.
