Carol L. Newhart, 73, of Littlestown, PA, died Wednesday morning, April 16, 2025, at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born July 11, 1951, in St Agnes Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph D Glorioso and Agnes Glorioso. She was the wife of Thomas D. Newhart, of Littlestown, to whom she was married for 27 years.
Mrs. Newhart was passionate about Mt. Joy Township and Adams County’s historic and rural countryside. She served on the Mt. Joy Township Planning Commission. She worked for CSX Railroad in various operating positions and, after retiring from there, went to work for Wimpy Minerals Millard Quarry in Annville, PA, which later became H&K Group, where she was Director of Corporate Transportation. After her retirement, she and her husband operated Newhart’s Iron Horse Inn, which is a Bed and Breakfast on their 65-acre preserved Farm.
In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by her stepson, Daniel T. Newhart of Scottsdale, AZ; her brother, Ronald Glorioso of Gettysburg, PA; and her nephew, Brandon Glorioso of Gettysburg, PA.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
