She was born September 12, 1949 in Gettysburg, PA to George E. Slaybaugh, Jr. and Catherine (Speelman) Slaybaugh.
Early on in Carolynâs career she was employed as a seamstress making slip covers and draperies. She later attended York Technical Institute (YTI) learning computer drafting and eventually went on to teach at YTI. Carolyn was also an assistant teacher helping children with special needs at Eastern School in York. In her later years she also helped to serve as a caregiver for the elderly.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Keith Minnick; her mother, Catherine (Speelman) Slaybaugh; her children, Jessica Tawney (Larry), Julie Benson (Justin), Joanne Bingham (Chad), Catherine Minnick, and Rebecca Minnick; four grandchildren; and her siblings, David Slaybaugh (Lolivic), Roger Slaybaugh, Tim Slaybaugh, Pamela Riley (Greg), Rick Slaybaugh (Charlene), and Melissa Meyer.
She is predeceased by her Father, George E. Slaybaugh, Jr., and her sister-in-laws, Sue, Linda and Sharon Slaybaugh.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, 2pm at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. A private interment will take place following the service.
