Chad Alan Bassett, 51, of Aspers, PA, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at WellSpan York Hospital. He was born December 12, 1973, in Carlisle to the late Charles Kenneth Bassett (Chuck) and Cynthia Ann (Clay) Bassett (Cindy).
Chad was a graduate of Carlisle High School and later attended Harrisburg Area Community College, where he studied Building Technology. Over the years, he worked in maintenance at Yellowstone National Park, served as Santa at the mall, and was a supervisor at Home Depot for over 20 years. Most recently, Chad worked for PA Building Supplies (formerly John H. Myers Building Supplies). He was an Eagle Scout and shared a strong love for animals – especially dogs. Chad enjoyed helping at Speranza Animal Rescue. He was an organ donor.

Chad is survived by his sister, Christa Bassett of Carlisle; aunts, Barbara Ann Bassett (Bobbi) of Carlisle and Carol Clay of Hideaway, TX; and a close friend, Erica Messersmith and her daughter, Destiny. Also surviving is his beloved companion, Myka.
Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Carlisle United Methodist Church, 333 S Spring Garden St, Carlisle, PA 17013, with Pastor Quinton De Beer officiating. A visitation will be on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be held in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Speranza Animal Rescue, 1216 Brandt Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Arrangements are being handled by Hollinger Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Mt. Holly Springs.
