Charles D. Duke, Jr., 79, Littlestown, PA formerly of North Carolina passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at the Gardens at Gettysburg, PA.
He was born November 13, 1944 in Cheverly, MD the son of the late Charles D. and Agnes Farrell Duke, Sr. Mr. Duke is survived by his wife, Carol Gehring Duke, a son, Hayden Duke of Frederick, MD and a brother, John T. Duke of Salisbury, MD.
Charles graduated from Pallotti High School in Laurel MD. Following graduation he was employed at C&P Telephone in the D.C. Metro area. He then entered the service serving in the US Army in Vietnam. He returned to the telephone company and retired after many years of service. He then served over 15 years in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary in Oak Island, NC. He enjoyed traveling and helping with Meals On Wheels.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Gettysburg, PA with Fr. Stephen Kelly celebrant. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Meals On Wheels, PO Box 3593, Wilmington, NC 28406.
