Charles E. Braxton, 66 of Arendtsville, PA, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, January 2, 2025, at his home. Born June 7, 1959, in Merritt Island, FL, he was the son of Charles Hamilton of Merritt Island and the late Jearline (Braxton) Hamilton.
Charles is survived by his wife, Janice M. “Jan” (Manweiler) Braxton, three children, Samuel L. Stanton of Gettysburg, PA, Tanya Galvin of Merritt Island, and Charles M. Braxton of Gettysburg, nine grandchildren, Ezri, Isaiah, Jackson, Kendell, Ricki, Channing, Tyler, Nyreah and Adia, eight great grandchildren, Elais, Esme, Malachi, Saniya, Navaek, Malik, Ivory and Kannon, eight siblings, Michael Frederick, Carla Frederick Lewis, Gregory Smith, George Hamilton, Charles Hamilton, Jr., Alfred Hamilton, Iris Hamilton Bradley and Tonya Hamilton Torbert.
Charles was predeceased by a brother, Steven Hamilton. Charles was employed for 20 years with the Evapco Corp. in Taneytown, MD. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and camping with his family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 10, 2025, at the Great Conewago Presbyterian Church, 174 Red Bridge Road, Gettysburg, PA. A Repass will follow the funeral services at the American Legion Post #202, 528 East Middle Street, Gettysburg, PA. A private interment will be held at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
