Obituary: Charlotte Marie Walters

Charlotte M. Walters, 92, passed away June 3, 2026, at LeTort Spring Nursing Home in Carlisle, PA.

Born August 27, 1933, in Marion, OH, she was the daughter of the late Forest Orville and Esther “Harew” (Rogers) Ganson.

Mrs. Walters was preceded in death by Billy C. Large, the father of her three children, and her second husband, Lee F. Walters, whom she married in 1967 in Detroit, to whom she was married for 54 years before his death in 2022.

Charlotte was a 1951 graduate of Green Camp High School, OH. She worked at various accounting firms in Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, retiring from the PA State Police Comptroller Office in 2017. She was the Past President of the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, Salome M. Stewart Tent 55, and an Auxiliary Member of the John Hartranft Camp 15, Gettysburg, and a Daughter of the Eastern Star.

Charlotte is survived by her two daughters, Angela (Craig) Hall, of Galena, OH, and Debra (Miguel) Morales of Carlisle, PA, her seven grandchildren (Michelle, Jennifer, Alan, Heath, Duke, Courtney, Nathaniel), numerous great and great-great grandchildren, her sister Carol (Steven) Cole, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Alan L. Large, her four sisters (Beverly Elam, Gloria Dickason, Diana Miers, Julia Seigfried), and her brother, Jerry Ganson.
