On Easter morning, March 29th, 1963, Grover and Sarah Nevells were blessed with the birth of their first child, Daniel Allan Nevells, while living in Laurel, MD. Dan was a rambunctious little boy who, even before he was two years old, could ride a tricycle faster than anyone could catch him.
After experiencing the thrill of the wind in his face, he maintained this exuberant approach to life for the next 60 years. He made everyone he met feel seen and accepted for who they were. Dan didn’t believe there was any reason to stay inside the lines and always brought his unique self with no apologies for his nonconformity. He was an example that proved that family isn’t only defined by blood. He was a loving friend and father figure to anyone who needed one.
He graduated from Francis Scott Key High School in 1982 and was employed in the painting industry for many years. Most recently, he worked at Jacobs Tool and Manufacturing in Hanover, Pa.
On September 7, 2025, Dan joined his younger brother, Christopher, and his father, Grover, as well as his grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins in the hereafter.
Dan leaves behind two loving sisters, Rebecca Nevells and Elizabeth Nevells, and best friend/brother, David Nevells, sister-in-law, Jackie Nevells, brother-in-law, Gary Salisbury, stepson, Josh Runkles, stepdaughter, McKayla Principio, aunts and uncles, 11 cousins, and several nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
Funeral services will be held at Little’s Funeral Home, 34 Maple Ave., in Littlestown, Pa., on Saturday, September 13th, 2025. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 1 p.m., followed by a brief service starting at 1 p.m. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Webber Sober Homes in Carroll County, Maryland. https://carrollcf.fcsuite.com/erp/donate/create/fund?funit_id=1469
