Daniel spent much of his life as a carpenter. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and riding his Harley. Above all, Daniel loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren.
Daniel was predeceased by his father, Frederick Gilbert; and siblings, Carol Winn, James Gilbert, and Linda Egnatowski.
Daniel is survived by his mother, Adeline Bishop of Verona; children, Heather (Garrett O’Brien) Hodel of Clinton, Daniel (Katherine) Gilbert of Munnsville, and Mary Gilbert (her mother Lisa Bowden) of Salisbury, Maryland; grandchildren, Lilly and Collin Gilbert of Munnsville; and sister, Barbara (Bill) Lohr of Verona.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Owl’s Club in Oneida, New York from 12:30pm until 3:30pm. Daniel will be laid to rest in Grove Cemetery in Veron
