Obituary: Darlene Hilda Hardman

Darlene Hilda Hardman, 88, of Gettysburg, PA, passed away Monday morning, April 21, 2025, at her home.

She was born January 29, 1937, in Gettysburg, PA, the daughter of the late Donald and Hilda Miller Lawver. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Lee Hardman, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.

\Darlene was a graduate of New Oxford High School. She then served in the U.S. Air Force, helping support the transport of soldiers and officers. For most of her career, she was a Real Estate broker whose company specialized in property management. She retired in 2019. Darlene enjoyed traveling and gardening, but most of all, she loved time with her family.

In addition to her husband, Darlene is survived by two sons; Timothy L. Hardman and his wife Charlotte of Gettysburg, Christopher A. Hardman and his significant other, Anne DiMarco of Gettysburg, PA, eight grandchildren; Kramer Hardman and his wife Tiana, Graham Hardman, Mary Tessa Hardman and her husband Samir, Nora Hardman and her husband Nicolas, Bryce Hardman, Ashlee Dillon, Kyle Hardman, Corey Hardman and his wife Kristen, two great grandchildren; Gwen Hardman and Hailee Dillon, and a sister, Doris Wills. She was predeceased by three brothers: Thomas Lawver, Clyde Lawver, and Charles Lawver; two sisters: Jane Brumgard and Rita Valentine.

A Celebration of Darlene’s life will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 3 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 109 York St, Gettysburg. The family extends their thanks and appreciation to Hospice of Central PA and JEVS Care at Home.
