Donald F. Weikert, 92 of Fairfield, PA passed away at The Gettysburg Hospital on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Born in Fairfield on November 20, 1932, he was the son of the late Frank A. & S. Elizabeth (Eck) Weikert. Donald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Arlene L. “Jakie” (Stotler) Weikert. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Navy. Donald worked for Landis Tool in Waynesboro, PA for many years. He was a life member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fairfield, Fairfield Fire Co. and the Fairfield Amvets. In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by three children, Wendy J. Bowders (Alex) of Gettysburg, PA, Craig F. Weikert (Lisa) of Lafayette Hill, PA and Amy K. Johnson (David) of Carroll Valley, PA, five grandchildren, Mark, Adyline and Audrey Bowders, Mitchell and Hannah Weikert, one great grandchild, Noa Shadkert, a brother, James Weikert and a sister, Betty Cornwell both of Fairfield and four nieces and four nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Kane. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 21, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 256 Tract Road, Fairfield, PA with Fr. Peter DiTomasso, celebrant. Interment with full military honors will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery following the Mass. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the Fairfield Fire Co. 106 Steelman St. Fairfield, PA 17320.
