Doris A. Weaver, 78, of Gettysburg, PA, died Wednesday morning, March 11, 2026, at her home.
Born September 25, 1947, in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Kathleen B. McDannell. She was the loving wife of Dennis M. Weaver, of Gettysburg, to whom she was married for 54 years.
Mrs. Weaver worked as a clerk in the Adams County Courthouse Tax Department before working at the office of Anne L. Faber as a secretary. After retirement, she worked at Barbour’s Fruit Market and was active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262.
In addition to her husband, Doris is survived by her son, Gregory Weaver, and his wife, Candace, of Dillsburg, PA, and her four grandchildren, Callum, Briony, Rhys, and Liana. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth E. McDannell.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 16, 2026, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 25 West High St., Gettysburg, PA, with Fr. Michael Pray as Celebrant. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass, Monday morning at the church.
