Dorothy was born July 07, 1925 in Gettysburg, PA daughter of the late Lester G. & Gladys (Peters) Starry. She was predeceased by her husband, Calvin O. Johnson, (2007), her son Larry Johnson (2019), and her sister, Linda Starry (2021).
Dorothy graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1943 and was a life member of St. James Lutheran Church. She spent many years working for the Pennsylvania State Unemployment Office in Gettysburg. In her retirement years, she and her late husband loved to travel throughout the Unites States.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter-in-law, Dorothy M. âDottieâ Johnson of Gettysburg, her six grandchildren, Eric Johnson, Beth (Jason) Lancaster, Lisa (Todd) Williams, Christy Clark, Heather (Tim) Leatherman, Mark Dutrow and good friend, Danny Heagy.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with her Pastor, Rev. Andrew Geib, officiating. Interment will follow the services in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00-11:00 AM.
