Dorothy was born on June 10, 1933 in Biglerville, PA and was the daughter of the late
Marshall W. and Isabelle A. (Heckenluber) Longenecker. She was the wife of the late
Lee Wayne Reinecker, who died 12/28/2010. They had celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Mrs. Reinecker attended Biglerville High School. Dorothy âDotâ worked as a part-time
employee at the childrenâs clothing store, Jack and Jill Shoppe, Gettysburg, PA from 1958 until

1969. She was the manager and eventual owner of The Hitching Post, Biglerville, PA from
1969 until 1996. âDotâ was a hostess for The Pub in Gettysburg from 2001 until the Fall of
2023. She was a lifetime member of Zion United Church of Christ, Arendtsville, PA.
She had been active in the Church adult choir and served as the director of the childrenâs choir
for several years.
Dorothy was predeceased by her daughter, Marsha R. Oropollo. She is survived by her
children, Nancy R. Hendricks (Erik) of Gettysburg, PA, Susan R. Wallen (Michael) of Bell
Canyon, CA, Scott E. Reinecker (Sarah) of York, PA, Ellen R. Sites (David) of Gettysburg, PA,
and son-in-law, Salvatore Oropollo of Aldan, PA. She was âMIMIâ to the following
grandchildren: Karen Morris, Amy Williams (Jason), Christopher Alcaro (Krystal Willcox),
Sarah Wallen, Rachel Wallen (Reid Fox), Richard Wallen, Samuel Wallen, Gabriel Oropollo,
(Kristin), Nathaniel Oropollo (Emily), Siena Letnaunchyn (Taras), Hannah Oropollo, Alexandra
Reinecker, Maxwell Reinecker, Marshall Sites and Isabelle Sites. Her great grandchildren:
Ella, Sophia and Christian Williams; William, Anthony and Grace Morris; Chase, Makenzie and
Kylie Oropollo; Harper Oropollo; Micah and Levi Letnaunchyn. She is survived by her sister,
Jane L. Grim of Arendtsville, PA and many nieces and nephews.
âDotâ will always be remembered for her love of family and friends. Her favorite saying:
âLive, Laugh and Loveâ
A memorial service will be held at Zion United Church of Christ, on the square of Arendtsville,
on Saturday, December 16, at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Heather Kurtz officiating. There
will be a private internment. The family is requesting that no children attend the service due to
seating capacity in the church.
