Dorothy T. Barbour, 92, of Biglerville, PA, peacefully passed away at her home on Friday, July 17, 2026.

She was born February 22, 1934, in Mt. Pleasant Township, Adams County, daughter of the late Rosville C. & Theresa A. (Gebhart) Topper.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, H. William Barbour, who died in 1999.

Dorothy was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Gettysburg, PA. She worked as a beautician for Becky Rife Salon in New Oxford, PA for many years and later in her career worked as a caregiver for elderly clients in the Upper Adams Area.

Dorothy enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas, working crossword puzzles, and bird watching.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Matthew Barbour of Biglerville, PA; her special nieces, Terry Adamik and Trish Collins; and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her seven siblings, Doris Topper, Francis Topper, Ann Topper Hamilton, Rosville Topper, Jr., Pauline Topper Adamik, Paul Topper, and Gerald “Pat” Topper, Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 24, 2026, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 25 W. High St., Gettysburg, with Fr. Michael Pray, Celebrant. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Francis Cemetery. A Viewing will be held at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, July 23rd, and on Friday at the church one hour prior to the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials for Dorothy may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P. O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 or St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 465 Table Rock Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325. The Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg is assisting the family with the arrangements.
