A member of the Fairfield/Blue Ridge Summit community for over 30 years, Elaine was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Ritaâs Parish. Elaine was most devoted to her family and enjoyed constant visits from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She and her husband made their home in south central Pennsylvania, but raised their children in the Baltimore and Westminster, MD areas. Elaine held many jobs in her working years, but she was most devoted to her seven children. In addition to her love of family, she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, reading, sewing, cooking, music and following current events. Her family will most remember the summer picnics, festive holidays, and other get-togethers with a great deal more guests than her home could fit.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She is survived by her six loving children, Susan (Terry) Castonguay of Suffolk, VA, Sarah âSallyâ (Robert) Copskey of Red Lion, PA, Mark (Laura) MacLellan of Orrtanna, PA, Elizabeth (Darrell) Zepp of Westminster, MD, Scott (Susan) MacLellan of Hampstead, MD, and Grace (Steve) Elser of McSherrystown, PA. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren (Scott, Lauren, Sarah, Adam, Meghan, Katie, John, Kale, Anna, Patrick, Nicholas, Emily, Mallory, Daniel, Maria and Liam) and 16 great-grandchildren (Deven, Keenan, Eva, Molly, Logan, Charlotte, Amelia, Madeline, Nora, Clara, Blaire, Olivia, Lucas, Wyatt, Ella and Mickaela), and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her dear son, Geoffrey Alexander MacLellan, her three sisters, Patricia Lentz, Anne Titus, and Joan Covell and her brother, Harold Murdoch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, July 26, at 12 p.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 13219 Monterey Lane, Blue Ridge Summit, PA with Fr. Peter DiTomasso as celebrant. Interment will follow at the St. Maryâs and St. Ritaâs Catholic Cemetery in Fairfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Rita Catholic Church, the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, or the Bright Focus Foundation for Macular Degeneration Research.
Arrangements are under the care of Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, PA.
