Obituary: Eleanor “Sis” M. (Kimble) Lippy

Eleanor “Sis” M. Lippy, 74, of Littlestown, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. She was the devoted wife of the late Furman Lippy, who passed away on November 5, 2022.

Born March 18, 1952, in Petersburg, WV, Sis was the cherished daughter of the late Richard K. and Virginia M. (Botkin) Kimble.

A natural caregiver, Sis dedicated 41 years of her life to nursing as a CNA. She served on the night shift at UPMC Hanover Hospital for the last 21 years, following 20 years of dedicated service at Hanover Hall. Her hardworking spirit was evident early on during her ten years at Black and Decker in Hampstead, MD, and her time at Aristokraft in Littlestown, where she had the special joy of working alongside her mother. Sis found true fulfillment in her vocation; she never planned to retire and worked faithfully until her illness began in December 2025.

Sis was a “people person” in the truest sense—a social butterfly who never met a stranger. She considered her mother one of her best friends, and the two shared many cherished memories traveling together. Above all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who adored her grandchildren and treated her coworkers like family.

She is survived by her children: David K. Haines and wife Kathy of Martinsburg, WV; Rhonda Surprenant of Paw Paw, WV; and Amber Carey and husband Nathan of York Haven, PA. She also leaves behind her brother, Jim Kimble and wife Debbie of Hudson, FL; her sister, Cheryl Mallory of New Oxford, PA; her sister-in-law, Barb Kimble of Plant City, FL; as well as five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her brother, Rick Kimble.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of viewing and sharing memories on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Little’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 34 Maple Ave., Littlestown, PA. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 Noon.

A brief graveside service and burial will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, MD.
