rnest R. âErnieâ Shriver, 84 of Fairfield, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Homewood at Plum Creek. Born July 19, 1939 in Harrisburg, PA he was the son of the late Norman J. Shriver and Katherine Durboraw. Ernie is survived by his wife, Linda (Harbaugh) Shriver, to whom he enjoyed 50 years of marriage. Ernie was a graduate of Eichelberger High School, Mt. St. Maryâs College and Northern Colorado University where he earned the Masterâs equivalent in Urban and Regional Planning. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving with the 101st Airborne as a paratrooper. Ernie was owner-broker of Friends Creek Land Co. for 50 years. He was a member of Elias Lutheran Church in Emmitsburg, MD, Adams County Land Conservancy and Historic Gettysburg-Adams County. In addition to his wife, Ernie is survived by his son, Ethan Shriver of Fairfield, a brother, Norman J. Shriver, Jr. (Sandy) of Emmitsburg, a niece, Barbara Maly, and a nephew, David Shriver. Ernie was predeceased by a niece, Pam Shriver. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Elias Lutheran Church, 100 W. North Avenue, Emmitsburg, MD with Pastor Joe Herb, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the church from 10:00-11:30 AM. A private burial will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, PA. The family suggests memorials to: Elias Lutheran Church, P. O.
