Fred A. Stem, Sr., 82, of Blue Ridge Summit, PA, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at York Hospital as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born May 11, 1943, in Fountaindale, PA, the son of the late John A. and Alice Mae Warren Stem.
Fred was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. For most of his life, he was a building contractor. He enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends. His hobbies included go-kart racing, NASCAR, and, in his younger years, riding his motorcycle and hunting.
Fred is survived by three children, including Alice Baker and her husband Steve of Fairfield, PA, Britta Shaver and her husband Billy Jr. of Fredericksburg, VA, Fred A. Stem, Jr. and his wife Ashley of Browns Summit, NC, and five grandchildren, including Sara Baker, Stephen Baker, Wade Shaver, Mazi Stem-Taylor, and Mati Stem.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Monahan Funeral Home in Fairfield from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Interment will be private at a later date.
