Galia Rose Kendlehart, age 33, of Gettysburg, passed away Wednesday, December 27,2023, at her home. Born in Dobritch, Bulgaria, she was the daughter of Karen Miller Kendlehart and Neal Kendlehart. She attended Shippensburg University and graduated from Columbia Southern University with a B.A. in Human Resources. Galia was employed by the Department of the Army at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Maryland.
Galia was a 2008 graduate of New Oxford High School. She received her Girl Scout Gold Award in a rare joint ceremony which also recognized her brother, Victor, for achieving his Boy Scout Eagle Award; both the highest award in their respective scouting organizations. Galia was a member of the National Honor Society as well as the National Art Honor Society and was a participant in the Hanover area Best and Brightest Recognition Night – 2008.

Galia was a New Oxford High School varsity soccer and field hockey team member, lettering in both sports, and a member of the Custer County, Idaho 4-H swine production team, showing in the county fair two consecutive years. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Gettysburg and a member of Hershey Huntington’s Support Group. Galia was a fanatic fan of Alabama Football (Roll Tide!), WNBA basketball and the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team.

Galia is survived by her parents and her brother, Victor, her maternal grandmother, Jane G. Miller, and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, John and Janet Kendlehart and her maternal grandfather, Robert B. Miller.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 11 o’clock on January 27th at Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 East High Street, Gettysburg. A light lunch will be served following the service. Internment will be private. Memorial contributions canbe made in her honor to:
